Medical Mission Team Visits the Ladakh

Summer 2007

Seven members of Good Shepherd spent two weeks in India last summer. Although the trip did involve some shopping . . . .

Sightseeing . . . .

 And photo ops . . .

It also involved loss of creature comforts!

Most importantly it brought basic healthcare, friendship, and the Word of God to nomadic peoples living in the region around Leh.  Team members ran medical clinics at remote locations, providing professional care and distributing toothbrushes donated by Christians back home.  Lives were touched, memories were made, and the light of Christ penetrated a little deeper into the Himalayan darkness.

Lining up to be seen by the doctors

Curious children peak under the tent

Dr. Jane sees a young patient

Open wide, and say “ah”

 More consultations with Dr. Willie

  Happy to receive toothbrushes!

Time for a little R&R

Alive and breathing (but chilly) at over 17,000 ft.
